What are our Sale Books made up of?

These books are all new books. 

• They are being sold on this page, either because they don't fit our criteria (age-wise or topic-wise) for HSF books (ie. we can't see where to fit them into a curriculum). 
• Or they are here because, even though we love the book, there are such a limited number in print that it would be frustrating telling you we can't get it again.  We just can't obtain a reliable supply of these books.
• Or the other reason books are on this page is that they arrived in a damaged condition, either because of poor packing or because of rough postal handling. 
• Lastly we sometimes put regular books on sale because we misordered and ended up with way too many to keep on the shelves.   This sometimes happens when a book is out of print, and we keep ordering copies each week, forgetting how many were previously ordered.  Then it returns to print and all backorders are sent at once.

You will not find any books we find offensive here. We are not just selling off things we don't like.  Those books we give to charity or put in the bin.

1. 6.  The History of the Ancient World - by Susan Wise Bauer.  This marvellous book is a story of the world from earliest accounts to the Fall of Rome.  Unlike the well known 'Story of the World' series, this one is not for little children, and will appeal to the most serious history student.  However, because it is written as a story, those not so serious will also enjoy the rivetting tales of the world, told as the accounts of real people, whose records have been painstakingly deciphered.  I have my own copy of this hardcover book and have found it interesting from front to back, filled with many insights and facts not included in the SOTW series.   I have 2 NEW copies available.  Great gift!  $38.95
