The Wall - by Peter Sis - $22.95

I love the books of Peter Sis.  The illustrations are incomparable and the texts reveal a curiosity and truthfulness about the world.  This one, his latest, is the same.  Here Peter tells what it was like, growing up behind the Iron Curtain and living there while the Cold War was on.  He was a boy who loved to paint, and through the drawings, he shows just how such creativity was squashed under communism, and how the West was the epitome of all the things he wanted - especially freedom and hope.

This is not a political book, but it shares such a message.  it is a biography of life in Czechoslovakia last century.
