Story of the World Early Modern Times Packs
(Ages 6 - 11 yrs)
In these packs are everything you will need for a year of history study. As always, you can buy books individually, but if you buy a pack, you receive a 10% discount off every item. Books may change price over the year, and some go out of print. We record this on this website. You will be charged 10% off the full website advertised price when you order any pack. If a book has changed to paperback from hardback, or the other way around, we hope to substitute it because we know you need the full year’s books. You will be given a full quote before agreeing to the order. Packs include either Basic Packs or Literature Packs (both listed below). Details of individual books are in the modern history section of this website.
No substitutes will be accepted for books in any of the packs. You must order the entire website listed pack to receive the discount. Any returns will void the discount on all the rest of the books in that pack. I feel confident that most if not all of the books will please most families however. They are books we have used ourselves with great excitement and attentiveness from our younger childlren doing this course. If books are missing from these lists that you have seen on other lists, that is because we have liked our books better than those listed by others.
The Story of the World Curriculum of 4 volumes takes four years to complete a fairly detailed look (for children Gdes K - 8) at world history. Although it does not need to be followed chronologically, this course is actually designed with younger children in mind in the earlier years, and older children in the last 2 books. Children older than, say, 11 yrs, would find Ancient Times activities silly for them, so keep this in mind when ordering.

Please note: This History Portfolio roughly covers the time period of both SOTW Early Modern Times AND SOTW The Modern Age. A few sections of SOTW Early Modern Times actually fit into places in the Renaissance History Portfolio, but not enough to justify purchasing it with this pack if you are on a budget. We suggest slotting these few areas into blank spaces in the Modern Times Portfolio, and using the Renaissance Portfolio in a later year when children are older and more easily able to understand the happenings of the Reformation which is in the same Renaissance Portfolio.
