The fourth book in the Mastering Mathematics series.  Gde 1 - 6 division is taught in the one book. Long numbers are divided early on, and long division is encountered earlier than in Australian schools.  This is the weakest point of the whole course - it is common for 8 and 9 year olds, for example, to encounter sums such as 2867 divided by 346.  Gifted 8 year olds will be ready to grapple with this but even smart children will struggle.  In Australia this is Yr 7 work in schools.  When my children struggled with this at young ages, after a reasonable attempt, I jumped to the next book in the same grade level, and returned 6 months then a year later.  By 11yrs all successfully accomplished the hardest sums, but only after two or three such re-attempts. 

One strength of this book is the large number of real life word problems, pagefuls at a time.  Many are based on Bible facts.

This is an extra student book.  It does not come with the optional but very helpful answers to questions.  These are included in the Parent's Manual.
