Using Evan Moor's usual bright crafty ideas, this book comes complete with outlines for shaped books, read aloud suggestions and related crafts. 

For example, in the lesson plans on "Chicken Coop",  there is a list of possible stories you could read about chickens, (or you could choose a book you already had), some easy suggestions to get children interested further, such as showing a real chicken, playing a game or identifying parts of a chicken.  Then come 4 pages, each inside the outline of a chicken coop.  The first page has a picture of a coop with chicken - to colour.  It is the cover. The next page is blank, and designed for the craft (using the cut out chicks, hen and rooster on page 5), page 3 is a cloze exercise, where they fill in the gaps showing they understand simple facts about chickens, and page 4 is a lined form, in the shape of the coop also, where they write their narration, or use other suggestions on the teacher's guide page.

There are 22 such units or topics.  In each the child reads, does a little copywork, narrates and does a craft, then binds their book for show and tell.
